France Fortin-Surette
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of France Fortin-Surette, 47, of Notre-Dame, at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday January 30, 2024. She was married to Roger Surette. Born in Grand-Falls, she was the daughter of the Imelda (Cyr) Fortin and the late Carmel Fortin (2019).
France was a school teacher at Clément-Cormier School in Bouctouche. She made a big impact on the students and the school personnel during her years as a teacher. She spread positive vibes wherever she went. She also involved with the catechism teaching in Notre-Dame for several years as well as other organizations in the area.
She will be sadly missed by her mother; Imelda Fortin of Notre-Dame, her husband; Roger and her two sons still living at home; Marc-Alexandre and Frédérick. She also leaves to mourn her sister; Mélanie Fortin (Darryl Barkhouse) of Dieppe, her two brothers; Michel (Anne Soucy) of Saint-Jean sur Richelieu, QC, Carmel Jr. (Maja Zivic) of Aylmer, QC, her sister by heart, not by birth; Brenda Bossé of Moncton, her eleven nephews and nieces which she was the godmother to four of them.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Thursday February 8, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Roman Catholic Church, Notre-Dame on Thursday February 8, 2024 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
In France’s memory, donations may be made to ECC Bursary Funds.
