Semita Cormier
1940-2023
Semita Cormier, 83, of Saint-Paul-de-Kent, passed away peacefully
surrounded by her husband and daughters at home on Thursday November
9, 2023. She was married to Aldérice Cormier for 64 years. Born
in Saint-Paul, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and the late
Anna (Bourgeois) Fearon.
Semita loved her hobbies; gardening, her flowers, cooking and Specially taking care of her family. During her last few years Semita spent a lot of time finishing up her mother’s quilts. This was special to her, so that her daughters and grandsons would have a souvenir of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her husband; Aldérice, her four daughters; Bernadette Fitzsimmons (Rodney), Linda Cormier of Saint-Paul, Stella Maillet of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Carol Cormier (Mark Buonvino) of Fredericton and her three grandsons; Randy, Mark and Matteo. She also leaves to mourn her sister; Anne-Marie Gaudet (Rhéal) of Saint-Paul, her two brothers; Léandre (Maria) of Fort Myers, FL. and Gerard of Saint-Paul and her sister-in-law Sandra of Shediac Bridge as well as several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by three brothers; John, Oswald and Ronald.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Paul Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Paul on Friday November 24, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Paul Church on Friday November 24, 2023 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
We are proud that we were able to fulfill mom’s last wish by caring for her at home during her final months. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Extra-Mural nurses; Lucie, Maureen and Mireille, and to the staff of the Dr Léon Richard Oncology Centre, to Florence for her help with the quilts. Father Jean-Guy Dallaire, your visit profoundly touch the family.
In Semita’s memory, donations may be made to the Saint-Paul Cemetery Fund.
