Elide Albert

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elide Albert, 86, of Dieppe and formally of Bouctouche at the Hospice Sud Est Albert House, Moncton on Tuesday October 24, 2023. He was married to Marcelle (Michaud) Albert. Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Séraphin and the late Hedwidge (Haché) Albert.
Elide received his diploma from St. Joseph College in Memramcook, NB in 1958. He continued his studies at the Université de Montréal in architecture. He returned to NB where he became a member of the Architect 4 group. Years later he started the biggest project of designing the Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche. As an architect his achievements were recognized by the American Wood Consul Merit Award in 1993. In retirement, he loved to travel with his wife, collecting works of art. He also enjoyed stamps collection and other pastimes.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Marcelle (Michaud) Albert, his brothers; Arcade (Denise), Charles and numerous family members.
Elide was predeceased by his son Eric (2006).
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Friday November 3, 2023 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm with a funeral service at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Extra Mural, the Oasis residence, the Georges-L. Dumont Hospital and the Albert House for the care and kindness show to Elide during his illness.
