Louis Blacquière
Louis Blacquière, 88, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche on Tuesday March 14, 2023. He was married to Lucille (Arseneault) Blacquière. Born in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Henri and the late Marguerite (Gaudet) Blacquière.

Louis was a hard worker during the course of his life and held different jobs which were all dear to him. He worked for several years in the Pulp Mill industry. He also had a career driving a school bus, building house foundations and was called the fish man by many. He was a Jack of All Trades and had a love for cards especially crib.

Louis had a great passion for the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and trapper. Louis also truly enjoyed cooking. His traditional meat pies and fish cakes were enjoyed by many people in Miramichi. He was also well known as MacGyver, always inventing something.

Thank you to the staff of the Manoir St Jean Baptiste where he resided and to Father Dallaire and the songs accompanying the mass by Mariette et Yvon on guitar.

Louis will be sadly missed by his wife Lucille, his five children; Thérèsa, Arviat, Nunavut, Danielle (Steve), Oromocto, NB, Louise (Ross), Fredericton, NB, Joël (Anna-Marie), Lacombe, AB, Réginald (Laurie), Wayburn, SK, his eight grandchildren; Dane, Kayla, Chantal, Natalie, Geri-Rae, Randi-Lynn, Emery, Lauren and four great grandchildren; Harrison, Marshall, Kohen and Gracelyn. He also leaves to mourn several nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by six sisters; Alma (Emile), Exelda (Blair), Eva (Clarence), Sr. Catherine (Nun), Florine (Ray), Claudia (Jacques) and five brothers; Baby Patrice, Pierre (Phyllis), Médéric (Evelyn), Aurèle (Anita) and Patrice (Nélida).

Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Tuesday March 21, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:15 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church Bouctouche on Tuesday March 21, 2023 at 3:30 pm.

FACE MASKS ARE MANDATORY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.

In Louis’s memory, donations may be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche.
