It is with loving hearts and appreciation for a lifetime of memories that we announce the passing of Geneva Berthe, 93, of Foyer St-Antoine and formerly of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully at the Foyer St-Antoine on Saturday November 6, 2021. She was married to the late Louis-Philippe Berthe (2015) for 64 years. Born in Saint-Antoine, she was the daughter of the late Hilaire and the late Ida (Léger) LeBlanc.
Généva worked at the Clément Cormier high school cafeteria until her retirement. She was an excellent cook and baker. Généva also loved to play cards, dancing, singing and camping. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who she loved deeply and unconditionally.
She will be sadly missed by her three children; Anne-Marie Robichaud (Raymond) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Gloria Berthe-Baccouche (Nasser) of Moncton and René (Claudette) of Cocagne, her seven grandchildren; Denis, Sylvie, Karim, Walid, Mélika, Sophie and Luc. She also leaves to mourn one brother; Raymond (Gloria) of Moncton as well as several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by three sisters; Alida, Hélène, Cécile as well as four brothers; Nap, Gérard, Laurie and Félix.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Tuesday November 9, 2021 from 1 to 3:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Tuesday November 9, 2021 at 4:00 pm with interment in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In Généva’s memory, donations may be made to the Foyer Saint-Antoine.
Proof of vaccination and face mask are mandatory at the funeral home and the church as per the public health guidelines.
Généva’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at the Foyer Saint-Antoine for their special care and loving compassion towards her over the last few years.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
