Oscar S. LeBlanc of Résidence du Marias, Dieppe and formerly of Bouctouche passed away peacefully at the UHC Dr Georges-L. Dumont, Moncton on October 19, 2021. Born in Pré-d’en Haut, he was the son of the late Stanislas and the late Julie (Gosselin) LeBlanc.
He will be sadly missed by his seven children; Joline (Jacques), Carmella (Gerry), Ginette (Maurice), Jean-Louis, André (Aline), Bernard (Lucie), Julie (David), his special friend; Annie and one brother Antoine. He also leaves to mourn his ten grandchildren; Jérémie, Catherine, Christien, Lise-Anne, Jules, Suzanne, Nicole, Daniel, Réjean and Ghislain; ten great grandchildren; Joslin, Sébastien, Gabrielle, Justin, Philippe, Mélanie, Luc, Zachary, Alyssa and Alexi; one great great grandson; Finnick as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children; Elmire (1995), his 2nd wife Généva (2002), his partner Léona (2018) his brothers and sisters; Léonide, Éric, Doris, Nélida, Marie-Anne, Elzéar, Daniel, Néri, Joseph, Francis, Thérèse, Maria, Imelda and Alma.
He lived with great love for his family and for all the people around him. Until his retirement, Oscar worked at the District 12 School Board and previously was Manager of irving Oil's Bouctouche office. He was an officer with the NB Fire and Safety Commission. He has volunteered with various organizations and associations in Bouctouche, including: the Club d'Âge d'Or, the Lions Club (founding member and Melvin Jones award), the City Council, the Board of Directors of the Co-Op and the Caisse populaire, the Parish and Fire Service Committee, and St. John Ambulance (recipient of the officer of the order of St John).
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Thursday November 11, 2021 at 2:00pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Proof of vaccination and face mask are mandatory at the Church as per the Public Health guidelines.
For their excellent professionalism and attentive services, the family would like to thank the staff of sector 4E of the CHU Dr. Georges-L. Dumont and all the staff of the Résidence du Marais in Dieppe where he lived for four years.
