Claira Richard
1924-2021
Claira Richard, 96, of Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche and
formerly of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, passed away peacefully at the Manoir
Saint-Jean Baptiste on Thursday April 29, 2021. She was married to
the late Joseph Richard (1995). Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter
of the late Donat and the late Délia (Cormier) Léger.
Claira was postmaster for Canada Post in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent for numerous years.
She will be dearly missed by her five sons; Emerie (Lisette), Paul (Denise) of Saint-Antoine, Bernard (Irène) of Bouctouche, Ernest (Lucille) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Gerard (Claudia) of Moncton, her ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn one sister; Andréa LeBlanc (Alvin) of Cocagne, two brothers; Eddie (Anise) of Moncton and Alonzo of Dieppe, one daughter-in-law; Thérèse Richard of Bouctouche as well as several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by three sons; Ronald, Jean-Guy and Jean-Yves, one sister; Jeannita and three brothers; Ronald, Cléophas and Yvon.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic restrictions, there will be a private visit and a private funeral service at a later date. Interment will be in the Sainte-Anne-de-Kent parish cemetery in the spring.
In Claira’s memory, donations may be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
