Henri à Jos Cormier

Henri J. Cormier, 87, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully surrounded by his four children, after brief illness, at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Wednesday August 14, 2019. He was married to Joanne (Carroll) Cormier. Born in Saint-Maurice, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Geneviève (LeBlanc) Cormier.
Henri started his career in his teenage years by hawling pulpwood for the family business in pulpwood brokerage. He then went on to build and operate his own sawmill and a building supplies store for most of his life including timberland management and syviculture work. He was a very well known skilled hunter and loved being in the forest.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Joanne, his four children; Colleen Robichaud (Ronnie Jr.) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Louise Cormier of Moncton, Tammy Cormier (Denis Léger) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent and René (Murielle) of Bouctouche, his four grandchildren; Marc, Isabelle, Sarah and Jessica as well as five great grandchildren; Océane, Brielle, Kamie, Kaleb and Xavier. He also leaves to mourn five sisters; Nélida Savoie, Marie Bastarache, Bernice Bastarache (André) of Bouctouche, Stella Cormier of Grande-Digue, Edith Daigle of East Hartford, CT, four brothers; Hervé, André (Gisèle) of Moncton, Aubrey of Saint-Antoine and Emile (Denise) of Saint-Grégoire as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by four brothers; Bernard, Clarence, Rhéal and Angelo.
At Henri’s request, there will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Monday August 19, 2019 at 4:00 pm with interment in the Sainte-Anne-de-Kent parish cemetery.
In Henri’s memory donations may be made to the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital Foundation.
