Douglas McPhail

Douglas McPhail, 88, of Dixon Point, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday January 27, 2019. He was married to the late Edna (Nowlan) McPhail (2007). Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Donald and the late Violet (Bowser) McPhail.
Douglas was a truck driver for numerous years.
He will be sadly missed by his four children: Mary McPhail of Saint-Antoine, Donald (Dianne) of Miramichi, Robert (Aline) of Dixon Point and Wayne (Louise) of Shediac, his six grandchildren; Sylvie, Jamie, Kevin, Mona, Marius, Mark and six great grandchildren; Andrew, Lachlan, Sadie, Collin, Manuel and Pierre. He also leaves to mourn one brother; Kenneth (Marie-Thérèse) of Dixon Point as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by two sons; David and Harry, three sisters; Helen, Jean and Gladys as well as four brothers; Mac, Jack, Jim and Bill.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche, on Thursday January 31, 2019 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Thursday January 31st, at 3:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
In Douglas’s memory, donations may be made to the Bouctouche Parish Fund.
